Josh and Phylicia Masonheimer have been married 7 years (celebrating their 7th year this month, actually!)

Scrolling through Phylicia’s accomplishments, it’s so awesome how God is using her.  Phylicia has a background in theology and is the founder of Every Woman a Theologian. She’s also a gifted writer and best-selling author, wife, homeschool mama, host of The Verity Podcast titled but importantly a disciple of Christ. Her latest book is entitled Stop Calling Me Beautiful: Finding Soul-Deep Strength in a Skin-Deep World.  Josh is the COO/CFO of all things ministry related. They take turns homeschooling their young kids, running home business on small farm in Michigan.

We dive into some broad topics such as their ideal date night, how they met (the story is hilarious - they both admit they weren’t initially attracted to each other); marital roles (they live in the balance of a complementarian/egalitarian marriage); how to navigate sexual expectations in different seasons when one spouse may have a higher drive than the other; choosing to celebrate All Saint’s Day over Halloween and why; resources for parents and talking about the goodness of marriage while still being honest about the hard.

I love what Phylicia said at one point, “We like to concentrate on what we’re for and not what we’re against.”
